Aberdeen “Cracker” 617/16

October 2017

We are pleased to welcome a new ram to our stud sire team purchased at the 2017 Aberdeen annual sale for the top price of $18,000. Aberdeen 617/16 - or Cracker as we have nicknamed him - is a beautifully balanced ram with the Lambplan figures to match including 20.0 for growth, 230 C+ & 145.0 EQ.

Cracker is the son of the well known ram Aberdeen 5/15 who is ranked #2 for Carcase Plus across all Australian Terminal males. His grand sire is also an impressive ram - Aberdeen 16/12 - who boasts over 1000 progeny across 9 studs.

We look forward to seeing Cracker's lambs hit the ground next year.

2017 On-Property Sale

Thank you to all who attended the 73rd Annual Newbold On-Property Sale on Thursday 21st September and congratulations to all buyers.

All year long we have been celebrating 100 years since Newbold stud founder, the late WJ Dawkins, registered his Dorset Horn stud. As his incredibly proud descendants, we were very pleased with this year's sale result with 145 of 157 head cleared to a $7000 top and at a $1335 average, significantly up on the previous year.

2016 On-Property Sale

Thank you to all who attended the 72nd Annual Newbold On-Property Sale on Thursday 22nd September and congratulations to all buyers.

Rams met strong demand and producers valued the excellent Lambplan ASBV’s available. It was obvious that Newbold’s breeding emphasis for commercial profit drivers is highly valued by commercial lamb producers. Newbold has continued its success in lamb production classes in the show circuits, this year most notably the winning the Interbreed Championship Lamb Production Pair at the Adelaide Royal Show.
