History

The Newbold flock was founded in November 2000 when a Ella Matta ram 131/95 was mated to ewes from the Newbold Poll Dorset and Texel studs. Only progeny showing true Suffolk type, good muscling and no colour have been retained.

The purchase of semen from Ashmore 50/00, one of the top Carcase plus indexed rams available, has added to the quality base for the Newbold flock. Further top industry rams have been selected to develop a outstanding high performance flock.
